Sevastopol came under massive missile attack
The main communications center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet and the FSB facility could have come under attack in Sevastopol, observers believe.
The annexed Crimea and Sevastopol came under a missile attack on the evening of Saturday, March 23. Ukrainian Channel 24, citing local residents, reports that in Simferopol, as well as in Sevastopol and several cities near it, explosions and air defense operations were heard.
The so-called “governor” of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, confirmed the attack, but said that it was repelled. At the same time, according to him, a 65-year-old local resident died due to a rocket fragment hitting a residential building in the city. In addition, four people were injured as a result of the strike. One of the downed missiles hit a private house, but did not explode, Razvozhaev said.
He called the shelling "the most massive attack in recent times."
According to Razvozhaev, the missiles hit houses and one “office building.” At the same time, videos of “arrivals” in one of the city’s districts appeared on social networks. After analyzing this information, the OSINTtechnical project suggested that “at least three Ukrainian Storm Shadow cruise missiles crashed into the main communications center of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.” The publication's correspondent confirmed that in the area where the shells were supposedly hit there is "a military unit of missile gunners at the former headquarters of the Ukrainian fleet, as well as part of the FSB."
The Crimean Wind Telegram channel also writes about the attack on the same target. Later, this publication reported that it had hit an oil depot in the village of Gvardeiskoye, Simferopol region, where the fire started, and also, possibly, a garrison located in the same village.
After the missile attack on Sevastopol, the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Nikolai Oleshchuk, thanked “the pilots and sailors for their successful combat work.” “The sky and sea are the same color! Thanks to the pilots and sailors for their successful combat work! Crimea is ours! Together to victory!” - he wrote on Telegram.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported attacks on Belgorod
Throughout March 23, the Russian department repeatedly reported about UAVs shot down over the territory of the Belgorod region. In the evening, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the “suppression” of a missile attack on targets in the region.
According to the department’s statement, 19 missiles launched from Ukraine from the RM-70 Vampire MLRS were shot down over the Belgorod region. At the same time, according to Russian media, at least two people were injured as a result of the attack in Belgorod , and local residents published photos with clouds of smoke over the city. The Ministry of Defense does not provide data on casualties.
In addition, having published several reports about the attack in the Belgorod region, the Russian military department did not comment on the attack on Sevastopol at the time of publication of the news.
Belgorod has been subject to a large number of attacks in recent weeks
Over the past two weeks, 24 civilians , including two children, have been killed in air attacks in the Belgorod region - such data was published on March 23 by the regional governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov. The strikes injured 152 people, including 11 children, the official said. In recent months, the region has become actively subject to shelling - the most massive since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine .
On March 21, authorities in Grayvoron, near the border with Ukraine, asked local residents to evacuate the city due to the “tense situation.” In addition, the regional authorities, against the backdrop of ongoing shelling, announced a decision to take 9 thousand children from the region to other parts of Russia .
